The purpose of my work is to help you awaken to your true self and shed the layers of the ego – once and for all.
An important part of that path is finding your way back to authenticity and being authentic in all circumstances.
If you are authentic in all circumstances, the authenticity will lead you back to your essence, to your true self, to who you are at the core of your being.
It may sound simple, but it is not that easy. We humans have learned that we should think, feel, and act in certain ways, and when our real responses and how we think and feel don’t align with those ways, we tend to move away from reality.
We do it by suppressing our feelings, making ourselves wrong, or judging or trying to fix ourselves. Or by being righteous, becoming angry or defensive when someone challenges us, or getting stuck in analyzing the things we discover about ourselves on our spiritual journeys instead of just acknowledging them or freeing ourselves from them.
But the way to freedom from the ego and all the learned behaviors, beliefs, and old wounds that are part of the ego is to feel what we feel, think what we think, and react how we react.
It is not about acting out negativity or getting stuck in it, but acknowledging whatever arises inside us.
When we watch our inner life without judging ourselves, even if what we are experiencing doesn’t align with what culture (even spiritual culture)values and how we have learned to be, we can gradually begin to hear our inner voice again – the voice we have been guided away from as we have been socialized.
As we listen within and watch our inner life, we can also become aware of our conditioning that we need to let go of.
We need to see the ways we have been conditioned to be, the inauthentic ways of being that are part of the ego (and the ages of human conditioning that is part of the unawakened state of consciousness), to free ourselves from them.
Freeing ourselves from the ego takes trusting our true selves again. It takes learning to trust and follow our inner voice, even when our conditioning, culture, or other people tell us not to. And ultimately to refuse to leave ourselves again, even if the world demands it.
