A few days ago, I sent my book proposal to a writer’s contest (@hayhouseinc). I have been writing day and night to get the proposal ready in time, and it was such a good feeling to press the submit button.
I have entered contests before but updated my proposal this time, so it was a lot of work. And now, it’s time to celebrate. 😀🥳
In this post, I will share a bit about Chapter Two of my book.
The chapter is about the subconscious, and it’s one of my favorite chapters because it deals with the causes and the deeper reasons why we think, feel, and act the way we do in our lives.
The deeper causes are also where we can free ourselves from deeply ingrained behavioral patterns and ways of thinking and feeling that are not authentic and don’t serve us.
If we find, heal, and remove the cause of our behaviors, we can even free ourselves without working on the behaviors themselves. Because when we remove the cause, the behaviors fall away almost automatically.
That’s why going deeper is essential if we want to be free.
Many people try to fix themselves by focusing on changing their surface behaviors. They may work on changing a problematic behavior (for example, pushing others away), but no matter how hard they try, they keep returning to the same old ways of acting.
Other times, they may succeed in changing the behavior, but a similar problem reappears in another area of their lives.
That’s because the cause is still there.
So, they may have changed things on the surface, but if they haven’t dealt with the deeper reason why they think, feel, and act in certain ways, the reason for what they are experiencing is still there.
One deeper cause can also be behind a whole cluster of surface behaviors. So, imagine what would happen if you removed that one deeper reason. A whole group of patterns would fall away immediately, and you would have freed up a lot of energy to use in other areas of your life.
It is not a quick fix. Going into the subconscious is deep work. But it can save us time and energy in the long run. When we have faced and healed the deeper causes, we are free. They don’t return, and they don’t reappear in other areas of our lives.
